Ana Lola Roman is a true renaissance woman; songstress, video artist and incredible charismatic performer, with her new double A-side single ‘Klutch’ being no less eclectic. Combining a dark meditate soundscape with an intelligent social commentary that never veers away from being utterly danceable ‘Klutch’ along with double A-side ‘Jigsaw’ is set for
self-release on the 18th April 2011.
Recorded and co-produced in NYC with visionary producer Jean Luc Sinclair (Scissor Sisters, Trent Reznor), ‘Klutch’ and ‘Jigsaw’ show Ana Lola in her true light; delivering hypnotic electronic off-kilter piano and synths, with a choppy dream-like vocal overlay flickered with an almost Bjork-esque delivery.
Sounding almost tribal at times ‘Klutch’ & ‘Jigsaw’ contrast hypnotic early nineties riffs with a torch song-esque chorus. Borrowing from contemporary classical music and New York minimalism Ana Lola Roman combines a fragile, world-weary almost performance poet tone, with the howlings of a later day prophet. This is innovative, intelligent pop; and Ana Lola Roman appears as enigmatic as an early Madonna with her slicked down hair and attention grabbing moves.
Ana Lola Roman’s first full-length album is scheduled for an early 2011 release, with new live performances expected. Double A-Sided single ‘Klutch / Jigsaw’ is set for release on 18th April 2011.
